HTML Day 2025: Philly

What is this?

The Philly celebration of HTML, as a part of the worldwide HTML Day!

We'll sit in the park and write HTML on paper, on computers, and maybe even on each other!

Don't know what HTML is? No problem, we'll teach you!

Who can come?

Everybody! No prior knowledge needed!

What should I bring?

We'll have some art supplies and snacks, but feel free to bring any or all of:

• Water
• Sunscreen
• Snacks
• A picnic blanket
• Writing supplies
• Art supplies
• A computer (charge in advance, we won't have outlets in the park!)
• A friend

If bringing snacks to share, please label with allergens.

We'll have COVID masks for if we move indoors, but please feel free to bring masks/tests to share.

Finally, we'll have name/pronoun tags, but please bring your own if you'd like!

Logistics

🚋 Public Transit

Washington Square is a few blocks from both the 8th & Market station, and the 9/10th & Locust station.

The L or the 21/42/47 busses will get you to one of these stations.

It's also about a 20 min walk from City Hall.

🚗 Car Parking

There's some limited 2 hr street parking around the square. There's also some expensive private parking lots -- it's likely cheaper to park somewhere else and take the L though.

🚽 Bathrooms

Independence Library (5 min walk away) has free public bathrooms.

Otherwise, there are coffee shops and restaurants nearby that may let us use their bathroom.
